Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN), which rose 3.51% or 0.97 points to trade at 28.58 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.78% or 2.060 points to end at 76.120 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 2.16% or 0.68 points to 32.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which added 0.27% or 0.060 points to trade at 22.240 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) added 0.36% or 0.28 points to end at 77.70 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) gained 0.43% or 0.013 points to 3.009.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 37 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.37% to 13.16.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.80% or 0.38 to $47.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.68% or 0.35 to hit $52.01 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.43 to trade at $1292.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1765, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.9167.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 93.37.
