Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.53% or 2.510 points to trade at 73.570 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 3.51% or 7.30 points to end at 215.45 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.30% or 1.65 points to 128.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 0.21% or 0.04 points to trade at 16.76 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 0.03% or 0.01 points to end at 19.45 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) gained 0.15% or 0.035 points to 23.575.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 18 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 18.33% to 12.85.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.52% or 0.74 to $48.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.73% or 0.90 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.15 to trade at $1290.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1787, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.9080.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 93.25.
