Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 2.82% or 1.16 points to trade at 42.32 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 2.25% or 0.426 points to end at 19.386 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.72% or 0.440 points to 26.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which lost 2.17% or 1.70 points to trade at 76.78 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.73% or 0.04 points to end at 2.33 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 1.16% or 0.53 points to 45.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.99% to 14.58.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.66% or 0.49 to $74.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.93% or 0.78 to hit $84.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.90 to trade at $1191.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1485, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.43.
