Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.52% or 0.168 points to trade at 4.945 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 2.43% or 0.45 points to end at 18.75 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 2.38% or 0.81 points to 34.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which lost 0.85% or 0.43 points to trade at 50.36 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 0.41% or 0.55 points to end at 134.80 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.28% or 0.25 points to 88.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 48 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.67% to 10.36 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.19% or 0.09 to $48.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.59% or 0.32 to hit $54.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.74 to trade at $1331.96 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1963, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.9013.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 91.89.
