Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 1.70% or 0.26 points to trade at 15.22 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.63% or 1.370 points to end at 85.380 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.13% or 0.033 points to 2.965 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 0.85% or 1.80 points to trade at 210.80 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 0.40% or 0.07 points to end at 18.67 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.29% or 0.12 points to 41.26.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 58 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.26% to 10.23.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.70% or 0.82 to $49.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.25% or 0.68 to hit $54.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.28 to trade at $1326.42 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 92.46.
