Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 2.61% or 1.13 points to trade at 44.44 at the close. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) added 1.97% or 0.97 points to end at 50.21 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.40% or 1.030 points to 74.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 2.31% or 0.45 points to trade at 19.00 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 0.98% or 0.14 points to end at 13.64 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) shed 0.87% or 0.205 points to 23.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 56 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.07% to 12.20.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.23% or 0.11 to $47.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $50.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 11.24 to trade at $1279.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1737, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.9122.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 93.72.
