Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which rose 2.78% or 1.28 points to trade at 47.33 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 2.58% or 1.32 points to end at 52.40 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.27% or 2.080 points to 93.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 3.94% or 0.975 points to trade at 23.755 in late trade. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) declined 3.78% or 0.82 points to end at 20.89 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) shed 3.51% or 1.56 points to 42.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 41 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 14.75.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.79% or 0.54 to $69.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.93% or 0.74 to hit $80.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1513, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.44.
