Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 1.69% or 0.082 points to trade at 4.926 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 1.50% or 0.66 points to end at 44.32 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 0.88% or 0.27 points to 30.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 1.94% or 0.41 points to trade at 20.72 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.62% or 0.400 points to end at 63.820 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 0.34% or 0.06 points to 17.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 52 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.04% to 10.69.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.61% or 0.30 to $49.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $52.10 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.34 to trade at $1261.36 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.9049.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.59.
