Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 2.19% or 0.88 points to trade at 41.08 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.02% or 0.236 points to end at 11.908 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was up 1.83% or 0.68 points to 37.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.01% or 0.900 points to trade at 88.220 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 0.67% or 0.58 points to end at 86.06 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 0.65% or 0.24 points to 36.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 43 and 16 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.72% to 11.73.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.05% or 0.69 to $66.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.64% or 0.46 to hit $72.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1196.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1538, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 95.37.
