Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.96% or 2.460 points to trade at 85.660 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.60% or 2.70 points to end at 171.90 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 1.24% or 0.54 points to 44.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN), which lost 1.64% or 0.43 points to trade at 25.85 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 1.03% or 0.14 points to end at 13.97 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 0.70% or 0.185 points to 26.205.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 58 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.48% to 12.66 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.35% or 0.84 to $61.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.99% or 0.65 to hit $64.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.80 to trade at $1321.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.2329, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 89.94.
