Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.12% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.45% or 0.21 points to trade at 14.72 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.44% or 1.230 points to end at 86.610 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was up 0.98% or 0.235 points to 24.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 2.46% or 0.122 points to trade at 4.842 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.27% or 0.290 points to end at 22.630 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.92% or 0.38 points to 40.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 58 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.26% to 10.00.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.60% or 0.79 to $50.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.44 to hit $55.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.76 to trade at $1329.76 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1879, while EUR/GBP fell 1.41% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.32.
