Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.08% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.52% or 0.23 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 1.29% or 0.39 points to end at 30.74 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.21% or 0.20 points to 17.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 0.92% or 0.32 points to trade at 34.29 in late trade. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) declined 0.78% or 0.29 points to end at 36.96 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 0.64% or 0.019 points to 2.944.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 60 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.37% to 10.17.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.84% or 0.43 to $51.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.05% or 0.60 to hit $57.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.43 to trade at $1306.03 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1810, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 92.99.
