Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R) continues to expand the footprint of Glencore (LON:GLEN) East within the Glandore Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia with high-grade gold returned in step-out drilling.

Drilled 150 metres north of historical gold results at the Glandore East target, the latest step-out hole returned 0.8 metres at 12.6 g/t gold with an intersection of 0.4 metres at 23 g/t gold, narrow but very high-grade mineralisation.

This latest assay grows the strike length at Glandore East to about 240 metres and it is open along strike and at depth.

Large aircore gold footprint

Miramar Resources executive chair Allan Kelly said the company was excited about the opportunity represented by the target area, especially given how large the aircore gold footprint at Glandore East had grown.

“The new results are extremely significant as they have substantially increased the strike length of high-grade bedrock gold mineralisation intersected to date,” he said.

“In addition, the new results also reinforce the strong relationship between the shallow aircore intersections and deeper high-grade bedrock gold mineralisation.

“The aircore gold footprint at Glandore East stretches for well over a kilometre but we have only tested a small portion of the total strike length with deeper drilling so far.”

Miramar has now completed the initial diamond drilling program at Glandore East – assays are pending for two holes, GDDD006 and 007 – with further drill planning to begin once all results have been received and interpreted.

The company is also considering completing a more detailed ground and/or UAV magnetic survey to help refine the multiple northeast-trending (potentially mineralised) structures at the contact between the granodiorite and the mafic units.
