Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R) is back on site with the diamond drill at its 100%-owned Glandore Project, some 40 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields region of WA.
In a recent announcement, Miramar reported that the first diamond drill hole at the Glandore East target had intersected high-grade and visible gold mineralisation up to 0.7 metres at 13.85g/t gold, in a quartz vein within a felsic porphyry.
Prospects significant
This result, along with historical data, provide good reason to believe that there are multiple high-grade mineralised zones open at depth and along strike to the north and south.
“At Glandore East, we have multiple new and historic high-grade aircore and/or diamond drilling results over a strike length of about 2.7 kilometres,” Miramar executive chairman Allan Kelly said.
“The historical diamond drilling only tested a small portion of this large target and the drill coverage was sporadic.
“We believe that systematic drill testing, down dip and along strike, has a good chance of outlining further bedrock gold mineralisation and we look forward to continuing the current diamond drilling program.”
The program underway has been designed to systematically test the Glandore East target with multiple diamond holes over a strike length of around 500 metres, covering up to 2,000 metres of drilling.
More work planned
The company is also planning a program of aircore holes, on the 'island', which is south and southwest of the current diamond drilling program.
The aim of the aircore drilling is to evaluate the gap between the high-grade veins seen in the diamond drilling and the good results garnered from recent and historical aircore drilling further to the southwest.
Infill aircore drilling on the lake surface is also planned.
Miramar has also recently commissioned a detailed UAV magnetic survey to assist in highlighting NE-trending structures which may be mineralised.
In other news, there are updates on drilling campaigns across multiple projects:
- the Boorara North aircore program (Gidji JV) has wrapped up and results are pending;
- initial aircore drilling at the Whaleshark Project, near Onslow, is done; and
- aircore drilling at the Randalls Project, 70 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie, is underway.
