MetalsGrove Mining Ltd (ASX:MGA) has identified multiple zones of mineralised pegmatites at the Bruce Rare Earth Project with surface field mapping and rock chip sampling surveys, confirming the potential for rare earth element (REEs) and lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) mineralisation on the Northern Territory tenure.

An exploration program mainly targeted three areas within the Bruce project – Whistleduck, Plenty River and Whitehorse.

The southern section of the tenement was historically mined for mica, a type of silicate mineral. Pegmatites in this area range in size from less than one metre to four metres, with strike lengths ranging between a few metres to over 200 metres.

Apart from the pegmatites, MetalsGrove has also identified gold and copper potential in an east-west trending quartz vein complex.

Survey data to support drilling

“We are delighted with the initial outcomes from this surface mapping at Bruce which further confirms the strong mineralised potential of this region,” MetalsGrove Mining managing director Sean Sivasamy said.

“The surface field mapping and sampling will greatly assist in refining priority drill targets for testing in the upcoming drill program scheduled to get underway in Q4 2022.

“This drilling program will be designed to test the bedrock conductor and historical pegmatite mines.”

The Bruce Project is surrounded by tenements held by IGO Ltd, a tier-1 Australian mining company.

MetalsGrove believes the tenement is highly prospective for rare earth, copper-gold and LCT mineralisation, and intends to begin testing priority targets with a maiden drilling program in the coming months – targeting bedrock conductors and historical mines.
