Meta has launched ‘Make-A-Video’, a new artificial intelligence (AI) system that lets people turn text prompts into brief, high-quality video clips.
Make-A-Video is based on the company’s latest advancements in generative AI technology research which is opening up new opportunities for creators and artists.
Meta states: “With just a few words or lines of text, Make-A-Video can bring imagination to life and create one-of-a-kind videos full of vivid colours, characters, and landscapes.”
What’s more, the system can also create videos from images or take existing videos and create new ones that are similar.
We’re pleased to introduce Make-A-Video, our latest in #GenerativeAI research! With just a few words, this state-of-the-art AI system generates high-quality videos from text prompts.Have an idea you want to see? Generative AI technology
Generative AI is an umbrella term that's used to describe any type of AI that employs self-learning algorithms to create new digital images, video, audio, text or code.
Make-A-Video’s research is built on the recent progress made in text-to-image generation technology by Open AI's DALL·E 2 to enable text-to-video generation.
Earlier this year, Meta had launched ‘Make-A-Scene’, a multimodal generative AI method that can create photorealistic illustrations and storybook-quality art using words, lines of text, and freeform sketches.
In its statement, Meta said: “The system uses images with descriptions to learn what the world looks like and how it is often described.
“It also uses unlabelled videos to learn how the world moves.
“With this data, Make-A-Video lets you bring your imagination to life by generating whimsical, one-of-a-kind videos with just a few words or lines of text.”
How do I use it?
Make-A-Video is not available to the public just yet, however you can sign up here to be on an 'interested' list.
