Lordstown issues third recall of Endurance EV pickup truck
Electric Vehicle startup Lordstown Motors (NASDAQ:RIDE) has encountered more problems and has been forced to recall its Endurance electric pickup truck for the third time.
This time, the recall is due to the possibility of the instrument cluster display screen freezing upon the initial startup causing it to not display critical safety information.
The NHTSA reports that notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners of the recalled vehicles no later than May 12, 2023. Consumers who own the recalled vehicle may take it to the dealership to update the software free of charge.
Previously, the Endurance was recalled twice in less than a month due to issues involving faulty parking brakes and high-voltage cables.
Shares of RIDE are down 16.81% in afternoon trading on Wednesday.
