Lithium Universe Ltd has bolstered the financial and corporate skillset of its team through the appointment of Vincent Fayad and Kurt Laney as joint chief financial officer and company secretary, effective immediately.
Fayad is a Chartered Accountant with more than 40 years of experience in corporate finance, international M&A, accounting and advisory-related services primarily undertaken by mid-tier accounting firm PKF.
Laney is an experienced Chartered Accountant specialising in the provision of accounting, taxation and corporate secretarial services and who has worked in several similar roles for other ASX-listed companies.

Lithium Universe chairman Iggy Tan said, “We are fortunate to have Vince Fayad with such a vast array of experience particularly with local and international exploration mining experience and Kurt Laney join the team and I look forward to working with them.”
The appointments follow the resignation of previous company secretary and non-executive director George Lazarou, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Outgoing director thanked
Lazarou has been a dedicated director of the company for 10 years and during this time, served with utmost dedication and hard work across multiple roles.
He was instrumental in the initial listing of the company and also throughout the re-listing process as the company evolved into Lithium Universe Ltd.
Chairman Tan has thanked Lazarou for his “outstanding years of service with the company” and has acknowledged his “professionalism and commitment to the company”.
Fayad’s experience
LU7 expects to benefit from the experience of Fayad, who in 2016 established his own firm Vince Fayad & Associates, providing accounting and advisory services within Australia and overseas.
During the last 25 years, Fayad has spent a significant amount of time advising on various transactions, predominately related to the mining and exploration industries and providing accounting and corporate secretarial experience to mining exploration companies.
Fayad is currently an executive director and joint company secretary of Astute Metals NL and is also a joint company secretary of Greenvale Energy Ltd.
He is also a non-executive director of Nexon Asia Pacific Pty Ltd, a telecommunications company controlled by private equity group EQT.
Fayad’s previous public company experience includes being the executive director of Greenvale Energy and executive director and company secretary of European Lithium Ltd.
Laney appointment
Laney is a joint company secretary of Astute Metals NL and joint company secretary and CFO of Greenvale Energy. He was also previously the joint company secretary and CFO of Polymetals Resources Ltd.
He is also associate director of Vince Fayad and Associates Pty Ltd, based in Sydney.
In the joint role, Fayad and Laney will be responsible for all communications with the ASX in relation to ASX Listing rule matters.
