Legend Mining Ltd (ASX:LEG) has identified six new conductors at the Octagonal prospect within the Rockford Project, Fraser Range, Western Australia, after extending the maiden High-Power Fixed Loop Electro-Magnetics (HPFLTEM) survey.
The company will combine the HPFLTEM results with reprocessed seismic and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) data to define new drill targets.
After significant weather-related access delays, Highpower EM Geophysical Services Pty Ltd commenced the HPFLTEM survey extension at the Octagonal prospect on July 18, 2024, following up on the strong conductive source extending to the east of the maiden HPFLTEM survey area.
The extension survey identified six new complex conductors, interpreted to relate to and extend from the mineralised eastern contact of the Octagonal Intrusive contact.
Completed HPFLTEM survey loops with new and existing conductors with the interpreted Octagonal intrusion model projected to surface.
Encouragingly, this eastern contact has delivered multiple nickel-copper sulphide intercepts to date and this latest EM data suggests nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation potentially extends to the eastern side of the contact, which has seen limited drill testing to this point.
Diamond drilling planned
Legend executive chair Mark Wilson said: “We are pleased to be able to announce some positive news from the Rockford project with a series of conductors from the recent high power fixed loop EM survey at the Octagonal Prospect. The conductors are along the Eastern flank of the prospect which we have identified as a mineralised area from earlier drilling.
“Diamond drill planning is now underway, however, we are awaiting confirmation from Native Title Holders as to the timing of a site visit which will be the precursor to the next stage of negotiations concerning a land access agreement.
“The current indications are that the Native Title holders may have time available in September 2024. Weather-related access issues have been the cause of two agreed visit dates being postponed. In the meantime, focus shifts to Magnus with the maiden HPFLTEM survey now underway at that prospect.”
