Lanthanein Resources Ltd (ASX:LNR) has launched a drill program aimed at discovering high-grade rare earth (REE) mineralisation at its Lyons Rare Earths Project in WA, with the potential to deliver a "breakthrough discovery" that will transform the company.
Following up on outstanding results from Lyons 12, 3 and 27, the program will target the high-grade mineralisation found at the outcropping ironstones and additional interpreted carbonatite intrusives and ironstones undercover at Lyons.
Notably. Lanthanein plans to drill RC pre-collars for two deep EIS co-funded diamond holes to test large ferrocarbonatite targets.
Furthermore, the company aims to discover fenitisation containing enriched zones of REE and niobium along the outer rim of the regionally significant-sized targets of carbonatite complexes.
Potential to transform the company
Lanthanein technical director Brian Thomas said: “The commencement of drilling on new outcropping ironstone trends is a very exciting time for Lanthanein.
“The drilling of these new discoveries is the result of the geological team’s growing understanding of the rare earth mineralisation controls within the Gifford Creek Carbonatite complex.
“The upcoming field programs have the potential to provide the breakthrough discovery that will transform the company.
“We look forward to building on the discoveries made to date with the high-grade outcropping ironstones at Lyons 12, 13 and 27 which are around 2 kilometres from Hastings Technology Metals Ltd (ASX:HAS)'s Frasers and Simons Find pits and updating the market with results as drilling progresses.”
