Lanthanein Resources Ltd (ASX:LNR) has resumed a program of drilling at the Murraydium Rare Earths Project in South Australia following promising portable x-ray fluorescent (pXRF) results of more than 1,000 parts per million (ppm) combined neodymium and praseodymium, the main magnet rare earth elements (REEs).
The aircore (AC) drilling program is targeting an area beside the Bangham Road in the Bordertown Block of tenement EL6717.
LNR believes this area of the tenement occurs within the same geological formation that hosts REEs in the neighbouring Koppamurra Project – owned by Australian Rare Earths Ltd – which holds a resource of 101 million tonnes at 818 ppm total rare earth oxide (TREO).
Potential for large sand-hosted resource
“We are very excited with the recommencement of the reconnaissance roadside drilling program in the Bordertown Block of the Murraydium Project in the Southeast of South Australia,” Lanthanein Resources technical director Brian Thomas said.
“Following on from the highly encouraging XRF results in the first phase of the roadside program, we are looking forward to getting the results from this next phase of the drilling.
“Previous work done in the region by AR3 has outlined an extensive mineralised system where shallow near surface exploration has the potential to delineate significant JORC Resources of sand-hosted REEs.”
