Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) has picked out 15 new walk-up drill targets at the Mineral Hill Mining Lease package in the southern part of the minerals-rich Cobar Basin in NSW.
The targets were revealed through the interpretation and 3D modelling of a 28-kilometre induced polarisation (IP) geophysical program southeast of the Mineral Hill Mine.
Expanding mineral inventory
These findings are expected to contribute to the mineral inventory of the Mineral Hill processing plant and extend its life-of-mine (LOM).
The updated IP and gravity geophysics interpretation by Kingston has uncovered new and highly prospective targets to the south of the Mineral Hill Mine. The company conducted the IP geophysics program in February 2023, covering an area of 28-line kilometres.
This program complements the existing evidence provided by gravity geophysics in the region. The use of modern techniques and exploration models has demonstrated the high prospectivity of Mineral Hill both locally and regionally.
Mineralisation at Mineral Hill has been found to be directly associated with areas of high chargeability and changes in gravity response. This association serves as a valuable tool in refining target generation and improving the success rate of exploration drilling.
The mineralised structures at Mineral Hill can be identified using multiple geophysical datasets, with IP proving to be a standout technique within the Cobar Basin.
Renowned for gold and base metals
Cobar Basin is renowned for its gold and base metals (copper-lead-zinc) deposits, characterised by strong structural and lithological controls, as well as high sulphide content. The Mineral Hill Mining Lease and EL1999 have comprehensive coverage of aerial magnetics, radiometrics, gravity and multiple IP datasets.
The broader regional EL8334 also possesses extensive aerial magnetics and regional-scale gravity data, along with previously completed heli-geo TEM survey grids in 2010.
An ongoing review of geophysical data over EL1999 and adjacent EL8334 has revealed promising areas of interest, expanding the known relationships into the broader region. To further explore these targets, Kingston's geology team has designed diamond and reverse circulation resource development drilling programs.
More results soon
The current work program includes drilling at Pearse North, SOZ and reconnaissance testing of geophysical targets.
The company has completed seven holes for 1,083 metres, out of a 10-hole program within the mining lease area, with assay results pending.
Kingston Resources aims to increase the mineral inventory for the Mineral Hill processing plant and extend the Life of Mine (LOM) by focusing on organic resource growth within the approved tenements near the processing plant.
