Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has fielded further encouraging results from broad-spaced reversed circulation (RC) drilling along the Helens-Rangoon Fault, demonstrating the significant upside potential of the 100%-owned Cardinia Gold Project near Leonora in Western Australia.
The drilling, which was completed in February, has confirmed the extension of higher-grade, quartz-sulphide lode-style mineralisation between the Helens and Rangoon prospects.
Highlights from the latest results include:
- RN23RC196 - 10 metres at 2.00 g/t gold from 58 metres;
- RN23RC202 - 5 metres at 3.84 g/t gold from 54 metres; and
- RN23RC198 - 5 metres at 3.34 g/t gold from 4 metres.
These results, from 100 metre-spaced RC holes, confirm the continuity of the Helens-Rangoon mineralisation over a strike extent of 3 kilometres.
Assay results from a further eight RC holes targeting the Mystery Fault, an additional mineralised structure also within the Eastern Corridor, are pending.

Major focus
The series of deposits in Cardinia’s Eastern Corridor has been a major focus for Kin’s exploration activities over the past 12-18 months.
Helens-Rangoon Fault corridor is a significant mineralised structure containing several mineralised positions.
The company believes that the Helens-Rangoon Fault, the Helens East Fault, the Mystery Fault and the Cardinia Hill deposit are all inter-linked parts of a large mineralised system at the Eastern Corridor that is generally higher grade than other Cardinia deposits.
It intends to update the 1.4-million-ounce mineral resource estimate for the Cardinia Gold Project once all results from the Eastern Corridor RC drilling program are received.

New exploration avenue
“Our exploration strategy targeting the emerging high-grade potential along the Eastern Corridor is continuing to deliver exciting results and further reinforce the significant growth potential at Cardinia,” Kin Mining managing director Andrew Munckton said.
“These latest assays build on the strong results reported earlier this year and show that there is an exciting new exploration opportunity based on a high-grade lode style of mineralisation at Cardinia, located below and along strike to some of our existing shallow deposits.
“Recent drilling has clearly demonstrated that the Helens-Rangoon Fault is a significant structure, hosting multiple shoots of high-grade gold mineralisation over a strike length of approximately 3 kilometres and extending beyond 200 metres below surface.
“We now know that the Eastern Corridor hosts a number of significant structures including the Helens-Rangoon Fault, the Helens East Fault and the Cardinia Hill Fault - all containing several yet-to-be drilled targets where narrow, high-grade quartz-sulphide lodes persist to significant depths as part of a large mineralised system.
“Confirming the presence and continuity of high-grade mineralised zones opens up an important new avenue for our exploration team to target new, high-grade discoveries within the Eastern Corridor, complementing the shallower, bulk style resources which we have already defined.
“The 12 RC holes in the recent program were collared to test the interpreted position of the Helens-Rangoon Fault at up to 200 metres below surface in the gap between the Helens and Rangoon near-surface deposits.
“Assay results have confirmed the presence of two parallel zones of gold mineralisation, corresponding to laminated quartz and sulphide-rich structures observed in a number of drill holes.
“We are looking forward to refining our forward program of drilling for 2023 and bringing these high-grade quartz sulphide lodes into our updated MRE.
“Confirmation of the continuity of these high-grade structures represents an important step in the geological understanding of the Eastern Corridor, which will facilitate rapid growth in our resource inventory at Cardinia in the months and years ahead.”
