Jindalee Resources Ltd (ASX:JRL) has made strong early progress in resource infill and expansion efforts at the McDermitt Lithium Project in the US, with wide zones of robust lithium mineralisation identified in initial results from the 2022 drilling program.
The company designed the 2022 drilling program to infill and extend the existing mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 1.82 billion tonnes at 1,370 parts per million (ppm) for 13.3 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (1,000 ppm cut off).
Initial assay results
The core from 10 diamond drilled holes in this program has been logged, cut, sampled and submitted for laboratory analysis.
Results have now been received for two of these holes:
MDD020:
- 9.0 metres at 1,432 ppm lithium from 8.0 metres;
- 29.2 metres at 1,853 ppm lithium from 20.8 metres, including 14.7 metres at 2,383 ppm lithium from 20.8 metres; and
- 31.5 metres at 1,608 ppm lithium from 62.5 metres, including 3.5 metres at 3,387 ppm lithium from 19.5 metres.
- 18.5 metres at 1,844 ppm lithium from 10.5 metres, including 8.8 metres at 2,515 ppm lithium from 11.0 metres;
- 7.4 metres at 1,285 ppm lithium from 33.4 metres; and
- 26.3 metres at 1,839 ppm lithium from 52.0 metres, including 6.7 metres at 2,739 ppm lithium from 63.3 metres.
The company advises that the drilling of 18 remaining reverse circulation (RC) holes is also proceeding smoothly and is scheduled to be completed in October.
