Jindalee Lithium Ltd (ASX:JLL, OTCQX:JNDAF) is trading higher on demonstrating extraction rates described as "ëxcellent" from acid leaching of its beneficiated ore samples from the McDermitt Lithium Project in Oregon, USA.
Lithium extraction from composite samples averaged 93% and 94% from the 250-micron and 75-micron leech feeds respectively.
Notably, the 250-micron leach feed was also leached with a higher strength acid and returned ‘exceptional’ extraction rates greater than 98.5% for all units.
Investors have responded positively, with shares as much as 12.74% higher in ASX trading this morning to A$1.195.
Test work highlights
The leach test work extended for up to four hours with most of the lithium extraction occurring in the first hour.
Optimised lithium extraction and acid addition rates will be incorporated into the pre-feasibility study (PFS).
Leaching of a bulk composite has kicked off to provide lithium in solution for downstream test work.
Beneficiated samples have also recently been shipped to POSCO Holdings for test work, as part of an MoU signed with POSCO in February 2023.
Forward plan
Acid leaching of a bulk composite sample is underway to provide lithium in solution for downstream work.
Results from this test work will feed into the PFS which is expected to be completed mid-2024.
Furthermore, samples from units 4, 6, 8 and 10 have been beneficiated (250µm) and shipped to POSCO for parallel leach test work.
