Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 3.72% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italcementi (MI:ITAI), which fell 0.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 10.490 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) fell 0.31% or 0.0400 points to end at 12.6900 and ENI (MI:ENI) was down 2.06% or 0.2900 points to 13.7700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unipol (MI:UNPI), which lost 6.85% or 0.212 points to trade at 2.884 in late trade. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 6.57% or 1.64 points to end at 23.31 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 6.57% or 0.2000 points to 2.8440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 378 to 37 and 5 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.57% or 1.30 to $49.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.41% or 1.25 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1274.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1280, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 94.42.
