Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which rose 3.52% or 0.90 points to trade at 26.50 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 2.62% or 0.094 points to end at 3.684 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) was up 1.16% or 0.0060 points to 0.5225 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which lost 5.15% or 0.1620 points to trade at 2.9820 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 4.73% or 0.0425 points to end at 0.8565 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 4.40% or 0.1440 points to 3.1260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 256 to 140 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.42% or 1.38 to $41.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.67% or 1.57 to hit $44.40 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1257.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7992.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 94.08.
