Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which rose 1.57% or 0.10 points to trade at 6.46 at the close. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) added 1.38% or 0.06 points to end at 4.25 and Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) was up 1.27% or 0.65 points to 51.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 3.14% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.470 in late trade. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 2.61% or 0.210 points to end at 7.850 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) shed 2.30% or 0.50 points to 21.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 202 to 151 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.60% or 0.32 to $53.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.75% or 0.42 to hit $55.81 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.35 to trade at $1276.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0606, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8487.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 100.61.
