Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian (MI:PRY), which rose 2.47% or 0.64 points to trade at 26.54 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 1.35% or 0.24 points to end at 17.98 and Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) was up 1.03% or 0.55 points to 54.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which lost 2.67% or 0.68 points to trade at 24.78 in late trade. Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) declined 2.19% or 0.29 points to end at 12.97 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 1.61% or 0.135 points to 8.265.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 221 to 134 and 12 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.56% or 0.24 to $42.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.64% or 0.29 to hit $45.51 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.80 to trade at $1257.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 96.97.
