Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 10.24% or 0.0590 points to trade at 0.6350 at the close. Campari (MI:CPRI) added 5.03% or 0.40 points to end at 8.35 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 3.00% or 0.45 points to 15.46 in late trade.
Biggest losers included A2A (MI:A2), which lost 2.81% or 0.032 points to trade at 1.108 in late trade. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 2.05% or 0.0560 points to end at 2.6780 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) shed 1.20% or 0.24 points to 19.69.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 285 to 133 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 3.40% or 1.31 to $37.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.03% or 0.82 to hit $39.57 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.22% or 15.40 to trade at $1244.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1094, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7751.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 96.62.
