Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.12% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 0.56% or 0.22 points to trade at 39.48 at the close. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) added 0.53% or 0.010 points to end at 1.905 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was up 0.44% or 0.50 points to 113.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which lost 7.22% or 0.63 points to trade at 8.15 in late trade. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 6.73% or 1.54 points to end at 21.34 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) shed 6.58% or 0.159 points to 2.252.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 335 to 53 and 10 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.78% or 1.21 to $66.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.16% or 0.89 to hit $75.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.50 to trade at $1297.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1628, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.36.
