Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI), which rose 2.10% or 0.3660 points to trade at 17.8360 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 0.31% or 0.009 points to end at 3.085 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 0.31% or 0.03 points to 9.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 8.06% or 2.80 points to trade at 31.96 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 6.19% or 1.37 points to end at 20.77 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) shed 5.75% or 1.055 points to 17.285.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 293 to 73 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.33% or 0.82 to $60.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.07% or 0.70 to hit $64.81 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.20 to trade at $1318.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.2240, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8788.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 90.25.
