Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.60% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which rose 3.70% or 0.385 points to trade at 10.795 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 1.26% or 0.49 points to end at 39.40 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) was up 0.85% or 0.06 points to 7.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which lost 7.85% or 0.3250 points to trade at 3.8160 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) declined 6.64% or 0.332 points to end at 4.666 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) shed 6.36% or 0.180 points to 2.657.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 280 to 88 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.34% or 0.24 to $71.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.33% or 0.26 to hit $79.04 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1291.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1785, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.49.
