Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 1.97% or 0.45 points to trade at 23.24 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 0.86% or 0.180 points to end at 21.160 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was up 0.74% or 0.1200 points to 16.3500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 7.53% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.700 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) declined 4.38% or 0.178 points to end at 3.890 and Mediaset (MI:MS) shed 3.93% or 0.120 points to 2.930.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 265 to 107 and 12 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.45% or 0.26 to $56.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $63.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.84% or 10.76 to trade at $1286.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1590, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.77.
