Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 2.47% or 0.59 points to trade at 24.46 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 1.78% or 0.056 points to end at 3.200 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 1.73% or 0.0620 points to 3.6460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 2.19% or 0.068 points to trade at 3.044 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) declined 2.14% or 0.098 points to end at 4.472 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) shed 2.01% or 0.078 points to 3.802.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 142 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.90% or 1.44 to $51.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.94% or 1.08 to hit $56.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 8.52 to trade at $1293.52 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 93.08.
