Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.39% or 0.1000 points to trade at 4.2860 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 1.26% or 0.17 points to end at 14.04 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 0.93% or 0.30 points to 32.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 9.03% or 0.226 points to trade at 2.277 in late trade. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 2.13% or 0.188 points to end at 8.638 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) shed 1.92% or 0.120 points to 6.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 159 to 121 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.63% or 0.43 to $68.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1220.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.13.
