Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII), which rose 2.97% or 0.0205 points to trade at 0.7105 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.25% or 0.2400 points to end at 10.9100 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) was up 1.39% or 0.09 points to 6.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which lost 3.38% or 0.77 points to trade at 22.04 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 2.34% or 0.0145 points to end at 0.6045 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 1.85% or 0.125 points to 6.650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 178 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.24% or 0.10 to $41.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.48% or 0.20 to hit $41.74 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1247.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1216, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.7894.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.66.
