Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.13% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 7.23% or 1.040 points to trade at 15.430 at the close. Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 5.68% or 3.95 points to end at 73.50 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 4.94% or 1.20 points to 25.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 2.73% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.90 in late trade. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.26% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.3930 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) shed 0.20% or 0.030 points to 14.810.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 243 to 109 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 4.04% or 1.93 to $45.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.80% or 1.93 to hit $48.86 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.30% or 16.23 to trade at $1232.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.0972, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 98.67.
