Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 7.75% or 1.000 points to trade at 13.900 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) added 3.54% or 0.130 points to end at 3.800 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 2.63% or 0.066 points to 2.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which lost 2.27% or 0.64 points to trade at 27.56 in late trade. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 1.83% or 0.40 points to end at 21.50 and Brembo (MI:BRBI) shed 1.28% or 0.85 points to 65.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 132 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.76% or 0.84 to $48.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.43% or 0.73 to hit $51.65 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 2.85 to trade at $1199.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.0638, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8709.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.33.
