Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST), which rose 3.40% or 0.205 points to trade at 6.240 at the close. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) added 3.40% or 0.510 points to end at 15.510 and Generali (MI:GASI) was up 2.40% or 0.36 points to 15.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which lost 1.45% or 0.32 points to trade at 21.78 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 1.35% or 0.0460 points to end at 3.3740 and Enel (MI:ENEI) shed 1.28% or 0.062 points to 4.798.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 208 to 149 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.32% or 1.54 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 3.07% or 1.49 to hit $50.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.08 to trade at $1250.22 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1654, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8941.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.84.
