Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 3.93% or 0.0225 points to trade at 0.5955 at the close. Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) added 3.65% or 0.23 points to end at 6.54 and Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI) was up 3.62% or 0.390 points to 11.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 1.83% or 0.2000 points to trade at 10.7200 in late trade. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 1.76% or 0.0660 points to end at 3.6840 and Tod'S (MI:TOD) shed 1.71% or 1.15 points to 66.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 260 to 146 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $40.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.75% or 0.31 to hit $41.23 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.86% or 10.90 to trade at $1254.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.05.
