Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 1.63% or 0.210 points to trade at 13.100 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 1.46% or 0.200 points to end at 13.930 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 1.29% or 0.35 points to 27.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Generali (MI:GASI), which lost 1.51% or 0.22 points to trade at 14.33 in late trade. Mediaset (MI:MS) declined 1.33% or 0.052 points to end at 3.844 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) shed 1.20% or 0.05 points to 3.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 180 to 159 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.50% or 0.24 to $48.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $50.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1249.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0810, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8661.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 99.41.
