Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 3.20% or 0.0215 points to trade at 0.6940 at the close. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 2.91% or 0.43 points to end at 15.22 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 2.13% or 0.115 points to 5.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 1.82% or 0.0062 points to trade at 0.3341 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 1.63% or 0.2100 points to end at 12.7100 and Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) shed 1.42% or 0.64 points to 44.37.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 227 to 152 and 34 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.65% or 0.77 to $45.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 0.80 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.05 to trade at $1328.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1071, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8349.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.58.
