Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 3.90% or 0.35 points to trade at 9.32 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 3.74% or 0.1230 points to end at 3.4120 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was up 3.31% or 2.96 points to 92.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED), which lost 1.36% or 0.070 points to trade at 5.080 in late trade. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 0.94% or 0.10 points to end at 9.99 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) shed 0.74% or 0.090 points to 12.025.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 218 to 137 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 3.13% or 1.46 to $48.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.24% or 1.26 to hit $57.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.35 to trade at $1256.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1425, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.9027.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.107.
