Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian (MI:PRY), which rose 3.85% or 0.78 points to trade at 21.04 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 3.31% or 0.0208 points to end at 0.6490 and UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) was up 3.16% or 0.060 points to 1.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 3.99% or 1.19 points to trade at 28.63 in late trade. Mediaset (MI:MS) declined 2.61% or 0.069 points to end at 2.571 and Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER) shed 0.77% or 0.16 points to 20.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 243 to 103 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.14% or 0.10 to $73.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $77.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.07% or 13.30 to trade at $1255.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1645, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.44.
