Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 10.60% or 0.982 points to trade at 10.250 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) added 4.11% or 0.104 points to end at 2.634 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) was up 3.45% or 0.205 points to 6.145 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 1.56% or 0.0710 points to trade at 4.4710 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 1.47% or 0.15 points to end at 10.05 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) shed 1.21% or 0.23 points to 18.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 150 and 34 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.53% or 1.07 to $69.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.87% or 0.66 to hit $74.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.20 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1707, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.24.
