Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian (MI:PRY), which rose 4.66% or 0.95 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. Exor NV (MI:EXOR) added 3.37% or 1.88 points to end at 57.70 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was up 3.33% or 0.1060 points to 3.2920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MI:MS), which lost 4.56% or 0.131 points to trade at 2.740 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 0.25% or 0.04 points to end at 15.71 and UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) shed 0.21% or 0.004 points to 1.893.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 256 to 109 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.97% or 0.71 to $74.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.98% or 1.54 to hit $79.15 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1254.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.95% to 1.1678, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8850.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 94.28.
