Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which rose 7.36% or 0.328 points to trade at 4.783 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 4.85% or 0.72 points to end at 15.69 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 3.66% or 0.1340 points to 3.7960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which lost 2.42% or 0.410 points to trade at 16.498 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 1.51% or 0.310 points to end at 20.160 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) shed 1.19% or 1.45 points to 120.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 119 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 4.55% or 2.98 to $68.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.48% or 1.81 to hit $74.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1270.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1649, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 94.27.
