Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI), which rose 2.86% or 0.124 points to trade at 4.458 at the close. UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) added 2.20% or 0.3900 points to end at 18.0800 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 1.99% or 0.094 points to 4.814 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 1.36% or 0.0560 points to trade at 4.0620 in late trade. Prysmian (MI:PRY) declined 1.23% or 0.36 points to end at 28.80 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) shed 1.22% or 0.0090 points to 0.7260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 218 to 145 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.72% or 0.47 to $66.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.52% or 0.37 to hit $70.90 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.90 to trade at $1360.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.64% to 1.2488, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8754.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 88.53.
