Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.91% or 0.1540 points to trade at 4.0940 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 3.61% or 0.74 points to end at 21.25 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 2.79% or 0.074 points to 2.731 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo SpA (MI:SFER), which lost 1.68% or 0.33 points to trade at 19.34 in late trade. Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) declined 1.42% or 0.10 points to end at 7.27 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) shed 1.20% or 0.058 points to 4.778.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 210 to 142 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.49% or 0.36 to $73.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.02% or 0.79 to hit $77.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.00 to trade at $1260.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.84.
